Lleiroso Crianza 2018 wins Silver Medal with a score of 90 over 100
Valbuena de Duero, June 14th. Two wines of Bodegas Lleiroso (D.O. Ribera del Duero), part of the group BORNOS Bodegas & Viñedos, have been awarded with many medals in different categories of the international contest Decanter World Wine Awards 2022. One of these wines, Lleiroso Reserva 2016 won a Gold Medal and a score of 95 points over 100, and Lleiroso Crianza 2018 got a Silver Medal and 90 points over 100.
Decanter World Wine Awards (DWWA) has held its 19th edition remaining the largest and most predominant wine event in the world, very known internationally. For two weeks, more than 250 experts have tasted 18,244 wines from more than 50 countries.
Lleiroso Reserva 2016
One of the Gold Medals won by the Spanish wines has been for Lleiroso Reserva 2016, a wine with a high and brilliant layer and a deep ruby red color. Aromatically complex, voluminous, silky and elegant on the palate.
100% Tempranillo from old vines, aged for 15 months in new French oak barrels. Ruby color with mahogany rim with balsamic, spicy and roasted notes on the nose. On the palate is wide, rounded and with long aftertaste.
Lleiroso Crianza 2018
100% Tempranillo, aged for 12 months in French oak barrels. Intense and bright cherry red color with ripe fruit aromas assembled with a soft barrel background. On the palate it is voluminous, velvety and balanced.
Two awards added to a long list of recognitions achieved over the last years and that highlight the high quality of the range of wines produced at Bodegas Lleiroso. In fact, Lleiroso Reserva 2016 has been recently awarded with a Gold Medal at Mundus Vini 2022.
